I am the Managing Director of Carbon Gold Ltd, a B Corp certified company and named Royal Warrant Grantee of our Royal Warrant by appointment to HM The King. Working at the practical end of the biochar value chain, where materials have to perform in the real world, not just on paper.

I have spent over a decade working in the biochar industry alongside two decades of experience across administration, operations, logistics, and new business development. As an FMAAT-qualified accountant, I bring a commercially grounded, delivery-focused perspective to a sector that is often discussed in theory before it is tested in practice.

At Carbon Gold, I lead a dedicated team developing biochar-based products and projects for both soil and non-soil applications, including agriculture, growing media, aggregates, and construction-related uses. Our focus is simple: turning biochar into products that can be used, deployed, and relied upon at scale.

Biochar has real potential as a climate solution, but only when it is properly specified, economically viable, and placed into genuinely durable applications. Carbon value does not exist in isolation. It only becomes real when biochar is successfully used and made permanent.

I am passionate about building credibility in the biochar sector, sharing practical insight, and helping ensure that enthusiasm for biochar is matched with realism around markets, deployment, and long-term impact.

Great product and service. Have been using Carbon Gold products on lawn, indoor plants, trees and general compost for a... few years now with great results (have been able to save a few near-death indoor plants too). Whilst it is relatively expensive, it stays in the soil and keeps doing it's thing, so over time should become more cost-efficient.read more

I’ve been using this on my allotment since it first became available years ago. I use it in planting holes when... transplanting into the ground - with amazing results! Other plot holders who gave me seedlings were impressed by how healthy and productive my plants were compared to theirs. Now they’re using it too so we order in bulk. Bought the bulk bundle for allotments. It arrived the next day. I was very impressed. I can't speak more highly of it.... I grow naturally with a no dig and intercropping method for strong, drought and disease resistant fruit, flowers and vegetables. Because I use lots of carbon gold for lush crops, I would prefer though to be able to buy large 50 kg bags of simple enriched carbon gold, a I used to do in the past, without the different products that now come with the bundle.read more
