Want to join us? We're looking for a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate to work for Carbon Gold.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a recent graduate within the field of Mechanical Engineering (BEng or MEng) to develop within a rapidly expanding company based in the Bristol area. Carbon Gold was established to help mitigate climate change through the development of biochar-based products and related projects. Biochar removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and improves soil fertility. Although we are a small company, we are at the front of the global biochar movement, currently having projects in the UK, France, Portugal, Turkmenistan, Belize, and Fiji.
The position requires a candidate with a strong design skills and ability to use CAD packages, preferably SolidWorks, in addition to the ability to adapt and work efficiently within a research and development environment. To work in research and development you need to be a pro-active, practical person who doesn’t mind getting stuck in and getting dirty (biochar definitely is!). Any knowledge or past experience in motor/machinery maintenance is beneficial. An ideal applicant will have some metal fabrication skills (welding, angle grinding etc).
The main responsibilities will include assisting in the development of the existing and new biochar kilns along with supervising the manufacture of biochar kilns to required quality standards. A suitable applicant must have the ability to work under their own initiative, and work without supervision.
In order to apply for this role, you should be a mechanical engineering graduate. Starting salary of £20-£25k dependent on experience.
