CPD-Certified Webinars for Specifiers
Carbon Gold now offers a suite of six CPD-certified webinars, independently certified by The CPD Certification Service. Each one is built on our own trial data and independent peer-reviewed research, and counts towards the structured Continuing Professional Development that arboriculturists, ecologists, landscape architects, growers and land managers are required to record each year.
Every session is delivered online, runs between 30 – 45 minutes with Q & A afterwards, and suits both entry and intermediate levels. Attend live or request a session for your team, and each delegate receives an official, individually numbered CPD certificate of attendance that can be verified independently.
The webinars we have available are:
Unlocking the Potential of Biochar: Enhancing Landscaping and Arboriculture Practices
Our broad introductory session and the ideal starting point. A practical overview of what enriched biochar is and how it works in soil, covering its benefits across soil health, tree and plant establishment, growing and landscaping. Sets up the more specialist webinars that follow.
Ideal for: anyone new to biochar, and teams wanting a shared foundation before the specialist sessions
Biochar and Biodiversity Net Gain: Building Resilient Habitats on Healthy Soils
Explains the Biodiversity Net Gain framework, the statutory metric, the 10 percent requirement and the 30-year maintenance obligation, and why functioning soil is fundamental to durable habitat. Shows how biochar improves soil structure, water-holding, microbial diversity and pollutant adsorption to support habitat creation, brownfield restoration and habitat banks.
Ideal for: developers, planners, ecological consultants, landscape architects, land managers and conservation organisations.
Biochar in Arboriculture: Tree Establishment, Resilience and Disease Management
Draws on the Bartlett Tree Research Laboratory evidence base, including beech transplant mortality cut from 60 percent to zero and an average 41 percent biomass increase across studies, plus the Stockholm structural-soil work and Tree Soil Improver (Tree Protect) data on managing scab, leaf miner and Phytophthora.
Ideal for: arborists, tree officers, consulting arboriculturists and urban foresters.
Living Soils: The Soil Food Web, Mycorrhizae and Microbial Health
Covers soil biology fundamentals, including mycorrhizal fungi, Trichoderma and the wider microbial community, and how biochar provides durable habitat for soil life, improves water-holding capacity and supports systemic resistance to disease.
Ideal for: landscapers, growers, nursery managers and gardeners.
Sustainable Landscaping: Specifying Peat-Free Soil Improvement and Urban Greening
A practical specification session on choosing peat-free, biochar-based soil improvers, establishing planting on degraded or compacted urban sites, and building drought and heat resilience into landscape schemes.
Ideal for: landscape architects, contractors, garden designers and specifiers.
Climate Resilience and Living Soils: Drought, Flood and Stress Tolerance
How biochar-improved soils hold more water and support more soil life, helping planting and habitats withstand drought, heat and flood. Focused on Carbon Gold’s soil-resilience evidence.
Ideal for: land managers, growers, landscapers, and estate and grounds managers.
Sessions can be delivered live for individuals or arranged privately for your team or practice.
